Smart packing lists
Holdall is a smart, personalized packing-list app that helps you “Check packing off your list” — for everything from weekend getaways to international trips. Branded under Travel Bulletin, one of our Launch Potato brands, using their new design system I created in Figma.

Why I built it
Personal: back-to-back summer trips (family San Diego + work San Francisco) with completely different packing needs.
Professional: a free, useful page that drives people to Travel Bulletin to take action, not just read.

Stack

Figma, Cursor, Vanilla JS, Netlify

The Site

Email start → profile (carry-on vs checked, always-pack items) → six-step trip builder → generated checkable packing list -> Packlist history.

Built on the Travel Bulletin design system

On top: a departure-board motif — split-flap TB mark, Geist Mono type, dotted-leader checklist rows. A boarding pass crossed with a to-do list.

Before: Guidelines interpreted by Figma Make
After: Mocks I made in Figma using real components as baseline, to better explain how I wanted the aesthetics to render. Fed back through Cursor for improvements.

User Tasks & Flows

Prompting Process

Through a sequence of prompts to ingest the design system and refine the site interaction.  With DESIGN.md in the project, every build prompt pointed at that file. I worked in passes: scaffold the flow → generate screens → critique against the system → tighten. The prompts below are representative of analysis, principles, and page generation.

The packing payoff — a personalized, checkable list on demo data.

Toward a v2

In the future, I plan to swap seeded lists for model-generated packing lists via OpenRouter — tailored to destination, weather, dates, and activities. I also see a stronger hook back to Travel Bulletin content alongside each list, based on the destinations.
